Orange County Hops, located in the Hudson Valley, NY, was born from the idea that great beer, good food and entertainment is best when it comes from home. It was back in September of 2013 when we fell in love with the idea of turning our front yard into a hop farm, and by May of 2014—with the help of countless family and friends—our yard was measured out, holes were dug, locust poles were harvested, wires were strung, plants were in the ground, and we were well on our way to our first harvest.
Fast forward three-plus years and our passion for harvesting our hops and sourcing as many goods as possible from our back yard had grown even more, inspiring us to open The Brewery at Orange County Hops. The Brewery, with help from the Roscoe Beer Co., will serve as our tap room for OCH brewed beers and offer live music. The Brewery at Orange County Hops is a true farm-to-glass establishment.
Our vision of creating a product that is locally sourced has grown from a kernel into a reality in just over a year. We believe great beer starts with great water and finishes with great hops–and we’re excited to share our philosophy with you.
We started with a building on a neighbor’s farm that needed a little TLC and renovated it with wood homegrown from our property and weather aged siding from a Walden barn we salvaged. We combined those with a little sweat, ambition, and a generous amount of support from our family and friends with Roscoe’s outgrown brew system, and created The Brewery at Orange County Hops.
When visiting our establishment, we hope you not only enjoy our authentic farm brewery, but also take time to feel the passion we carve into every piece of chain-sawed art we created, as well as our beers which are inspired by some of those pieces. All of our beers feature hops grown next door and grains from an Orange County malt house.
From our farm to your glass.
